Defiant Technologies is a growing company Defiant Technologies specializes GC in the design and production of portable gas chromatograph GC chemical detectors and sensors. Since being founded in 2005, Defiant has focused on incorporating micro-fabricated components into chemical detection equipment. Our systems analyze gas, liquid, or soil samples to determine the concentration of chemicals in the environment. Defiant Technologies systems are portable to provide laboratory capabilities in the field.

Located in Albuquerque, NM, Defiant Technologies facilities include fully functional analytical chemistry and electronics labs, machine shop with CNC milling, and a 3-D parts printer.

Douglas Adkins is a co-founder and senior mechanical engineer at Defiant Technologies. Before starting Defiant Technologies in 2005, Dr. Adkins worked for nineteen years at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Doug’s expertise is in mechanical and electronic design and systems packaging. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Doug received his Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville, and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Patrick Lewis is Senior Scientist and co-founder at Defiant Technologies. Pat worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 13 years. In all, he has 30 years of experience in analytical chemistry and application development. Pat has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. Defiant Technologies specializes GC He has worked in the field of chemical analysis micro systems for 24 years and holds 11 patents in the area. Pat has developed microsystems for volatile organic compounds, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, explosives, and other applications.
